- The sponsor shall, in its sole discretion, determine the total number of Participants but shall not exceed 15 Participants.
- All participants must complete a liability waiver at least 14 calendar days prior to the published date of the Challenge. All official announcements, including names of participants and a brief bio of each will be published at https://www.lonestarpartners.co and https://lonestarpartners.us prior to the scheduled date of the event. 2. Rules of the Challenge: Participants
- Participants will, prior to the commencement of the Challenge, participate in a Range safety briefing and a recitation of the rules along with a description of the scoring method. The briefing of Participants will be provided by the sponsor or designated representative. This individual serves as the Range Official.
- Participants shall shoot in an order established by random drawing conducted by the sponsor. In turn, one Participant at a time will be announced and will proceed to either a shooting mat or a shooting bench at the Participant's discretion.
- Participants will be instructed by voice command to “Load and Make Ready,” at which time, the participant may insert a magazine in his rifle and load a round in the chamber, all while the rifle safety is engaged. A participant loading one round at a time manually may do so upon the command.
- The Participant will be given the command “Fire,” at which time the participant may unsafe his rifle and commence firing at targets, consistent with the scoring protocol that is explained verbally to all participants and as published.
- Participants are to shoot without assistance of a spotter or commentary from observers attending the event as officials or as spectators.
- Participants shall be on a timer and have a maximum of 15 minutes to complete their course of fire (ten rounds). The Participant shall cease fire at the earlier of expending ten rounds or at the end of 15 minutes as directed by the Range Official.
- Participants who are unable to spot their misses and to make appropriate corrections after three consecutive shots, shall be disqualified from further shooting. Such determination shall be made by the sponsor or designated representative in cooperation with the Participant per the Scoring Protocol. The score achieved by the Participant at that time shall be listed as their score of record.
- The participant with the highest aggregate score accumulated in accordance with the Scoring Protocol shall be declared the Winner of the Challenge and awarded the prize purse and such other items as the sponsor may provide.
- All other participants shall be ranked from 2nd to Last Place and awarded such items as the sponsor may provide. The sponsor is under no obligation to award a prize or other item to any Participant but the Winner.
3. Rules of the Challenge: Scoring Protocol
- Participants shall shoot at targets in order of the target instructions furnished prior to the commencement of the Challenge. Shooting Stages begin with the Stage 1 10-inch target, located at the top left hand side of the target array. If the target is declared by the Range Official to be a hit, the Participant shall next shoot at the Stage 1 6-inch target. If declared a hit, the Participant shall move to Stage 2, and continue in similar manner until a maximum of ten rounds have been expended. The Participant's aggregate score shall be calculated and entered into the Challenge Scoring Record by the Range Official.
- If the Participant misses a target, he shall retry that target until a hit is declared, and then may move on to the next target in that Shooting Stage or the first target in the next Shooting Stage as appropriate. The Participant shall continue to engage targets in the sequence described or until 10 rounds have been expended.
- The Participant shall discontinue shooting if he is unable to spot his misses and make corrections to compensate. The shooter is responsible for declaring whether he is unable to spot his misses. The Range Official may, at his discretion, ask the Participant, after three consecutive misses, if he is able/unable to spot his misses. Participants declaring they cannot spot their misses shall be disqualified from continued shooting and their score shall be the aggregate score consistent with the Scoring Protocol.
- 10-inch targets, if hit are scored 10, 9, 8,7, 6 (from left to right) which corresponds to the point value awarded for hitting the target
- 6-inch targets are numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (from left to right) which corresponds to the point value awarded for hitting the target.
- A Maximum Possible Score is 65 points.
- In the event of one or more scores being tied after each Participant has completed shooting (equal), the Range Official shall declare a tie and inform those Participants whose scores are tied that there shall be a tie-breaking shoot-off.
- Each Participant in the shoot-off shall be allotted 5 rounds for the shoot-off. The Range Official shall, by a random method, determine the order in which Participants will shoot in the shoot-off.
- Each Participant, in the order established by the Range Official, shall, following instructions of the Range Official, shoot only the 6-inch targets in Shooting Stages 1-5 in order until all targets have been hit or five rounds have been expended.
- Points shall be awarded as shown and described in the Scoring Protocol.
- In the event of a further tie or ties, the Range Official will conduct a “Sudden Death” shoot-off. Participants shall be allotted a maximum of five rounds for each Sudden Death shoot-off conducted. The Range Official shall use the same firing order as was used in the initial tie-breaking shoot-off. Each participant will be required to shoot the 6-inch targets in the Shooting Stage order (1-5 from left to right). Hits will be recorded and scored as previously except that, in the event of a miss, the Participant will cease fire and safely leave his shooting position. His score will be his aggregate score prior to the missed target or zero if he misses the first target.
- The winner will be the Participant with the highest aggregate score deriving from the Sudden Death shoot-off.
- In the event of a continuous tie, the Sudden Death process will be repeated until a Winner of the Challenge is established. In the event that a Participant is unable to continue in any shoot-off due to lack of ammunition, he will be disqualified from any remaining competition.
